Car battery lead acid

The reactions occur in reverse when you consume electricity from the battery, which is called discharging. This means that lead sulfate is converted back to lead and lead dioxide. It is this process that allows the battery to deliver power to the car when required.

This means they can afford to tack more weight onto the car, which always an impact on fuel economy. They also consume a lot of space in the automobile. Lead acid batteries require more space than some of the types of newer batteries, such as smaller and lighter types. Lead acid batteries also have lower energy density. That means they are unable to store as much energy in the same space as other batteries. This can limit the usage duration of the battery before it requires recharging.
