Putting in a new car battery

For that reason, before you start trying to change your car battery, it is extremely important that you get safe. To begin, turn off the vehicle completely and remove the key from the ignition. This is so that the car does not inadvertently start when you are working on it. It’s also worth removing metal objects like rings or bracelets from your hands. These can create sparks that is dangerous when you work with a battery. Use gloves whenever possible and wear safety goggles to keep acid or small particles from flying into your eye.

It’s time to get the old battery out now that you’re safe. First, locate the battery in your car under the hood. TOKUSHIMA car battery is typically located toward the front of the engine bay. Then take a wrench or a pair of pliers to disconnect the cables. Make sure to disconnect the negative cable first, which is usually marked with a negative sign (-). Then, detach the positive cable, denoted by a plus sign (+). You need to be cautious while doing this. With both cables off, carefully pull the old battery up and out of its compartment. (Careful though, car batteries come with some heft!)

Change Your Car's Battery Like a Pro

Now, you have to prepare your new battery. Ensure you have a fresh TOKUSHIMA batt that is of similar size and power of the old one. This is really crucial because if your battery is too big or too small, it will not be fitted in your car properly. It is better to clean the battery terminals before installing the new battery. Use a wire brush or a terminal cleaner to eliminate any dirt or corrosion. This should enable the new battery to not payout. Once cleaned, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly on the terminals. This helps to protect against rust and maintain a solid battery connection.

Next it’s time to install the new battery! Insert the new TOKUSHIMA battery into the battery holder with caution that it is well-adjusted. Once in place, you'll want to tighten down the hold-down clamp to ensure that the battery doesn't wiggle around. Then reattach the positive cable immediately first to the positive battery terminal. Make sure it is on tight. Next, attach the negative cable to the negative terminal. Once more, make sure that it is safe. It is very important to tightly connect both cables for the battery to operate properly.
