Safer and more stable than other lithium-ion, the LiFePO4 battery provided with several is much longer service life in its single structure. But just like ordinary batteries, Li-ion storage systems are not risk free and fire is one of those risks. The importance of understanding all these hazards is “to design safer battery” at Jozoking (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd. In this article, we'll see what are the reasons that make our LiFePO4 car battery easy to catch fire and then let’s know what is the right design and how to use them.
Internal Short Circuits
Internal short circuit is the main cause of LiFePO4 battery catching fire. They occur when the separator in a battery which serves to separate the positive and negative electrode of a battery – is disturbed. The separator could be damaged by any portions like inferiority of manufacturing, lifetime or penetration stresses from outside so that both electrodes can contact. This causes violent heating and may cause the electrolyte to ignite earlier in fact burn. LiFePO4 cells are inherently a lot more stable, but it can still go to shit in your hands inside in no time. At Jozoking we take care of such issues with our high quality control and finest grades of raw materials, Which create the best environment for Battery to maintain the same young look in all harsh conditions.
Overcharging and Over discharging
Over-charge and over-discharge are two major reasons for battery burn. When charged with too high voltage, if a LiFePO4 battery passes too much current, then it will cause inflow of more quantity in the same way and thus, this should not happen to a lithium iron phosphate battery like this: must not fall into thermal runaway. Similarly, over-discharging the battery will damage its internal structure which will make it unstable and nobody wants that an individual could have a short-circuit accident. And both processes stress the battery’s chemistry and can result in fire if not carefully managed. So at the end of this day, good battery management that monitors voltage and current deep-ends those fears. Safety first! safety is our priority, we include the latest management computerized technology for the battery and develop an automatic process that regulates each charging cycle automatically; doing so protects your investment and ensures your battery never overheats, or hazardous accident occurs.
Physical Damage
As long as the LiFePO4 battery does not suffer physical damage due to crashing, dropping, or improper operation then the safety is no damaged. If the battery case is crushed, pierced or deformed it can allow air to enter the battery which causes the cells in the battery to change and potentially short circuit. LiFePO4 cells are toughened better than most, but they’re not indestructible. But vibration from use in the car can over time weaken structural integrity, as may mishandling due to, say, overly aggressive installation. At Jozoking, we value safety and that’s why our chargers are constructed from Anti-flammable material and a case to protect it from external bustles.
